HERITAGE VILLAGE November 2001 To
Whom It May Concern: I write this as a letter
of recommendation for Lee and Betsy Paulet and I do so gladly, having worked with these two energetic, innovative, and talented
individuals for the past nine years on a variety of projects at Heritage Village and the Pinellas County Historical Museum.
Lee and Betsy have coordinated our “Pinellas Folk Festival” here at the Village for the past nine years. Under
their creative direction, the Festival has grown from an initial audience of several hundred people to an annual County event
that attracted an audience of almost 6,000 people last year. The Paulets have also worked on the planning committee for the Florida African American Heritage Festival
and this summer performed at the Village for a seminar on Florida folk arts held in partnership with the Florida Humanities
Council Institute for Teachers. I would highly
recommend Lee and Betsy to head up any Festival or program dealing with the Florida Folk community that you might be considering.
They have a close working relationship with a large network of performers – local and statewide – who travel this
